How do you feel about bats? Well, Congress Bridge is one of Austin's most popular spots because it is home to over a million of bats. This is a spectacular sight to see because the bats fly out just before sunset every night from March-November. The most amazing part is that they don't all fly out in one large swoop, rather they fly out more or less on their own time, causing the process to last for a relatively long time. There are several ways/places you can go to watch this spectacular sight, including bat watching boat tours, kayaking tours, bike tours and multiple restaurants. This has become one of the most beautiful yet unusual sights to see in Texas so don't miss out!
If you are looking for some education to go along with a side of fun, then Austin Duck Adventures is right up your alley. The tour is a combined land/water adventure that takes you downtown and educates you on the historical sites and provides you with reviews of the best restaurants before splashing into Lake Austin. This is a great, unique way to see the city with a tour guide to explain it to you. I can't think of a better way to get to know the city.I know I have a hard time choosing a restaurant to eat at considering Austin has so many. So I say, why choose one when you can sample 7-8 all in 3 hours? Austin Eats Food Tours makes that possible. Be prepared to eat this weekend! Austin Eats operates Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10-1. You can choose from four different locations in town including downtown and South Congress. Be prepared to indulge yourself in an array of Austin delicacies ranging from chef inspired dishes, to juicy burgers and delicious sweets.
If you aren't very familiar with this fabulous city, get out there and experience the weirdness by taking a tour!
